Substandard #Poetry

Pen pressed against the page

Ink pouring out

Words not forming in their usual dance

Stepping left, stepping right

But never meeting as one

The endless X’s and dashes jumbling thoughts

X does not mark the spot

Only shows the weakness of my mind

And my substandard writings

Should I even share this?

  1. This is my mind every time I sit down to write a blog. I immediately think to myself, “Is anyone even going to understand what I’m saying? Is anyone even going to take the time to read this? Will this help anyone?” Yes. So many things, yes.

    1. Thank you for taking the time to come read my poem. It’s nice to hear other people have this struggle as well. The best way I combat these thoughts is to always post my writings and see what the community has to say. Because at the end of the day it will only help me grow as a writer and blogger.

  2. I am having a similar dilemma. I have a blog written about my all time favorite singer. I am going to meet them this weekend and I really want to share it with them and the world, but I am afraid it will not be good enough. I have other blogs I don’t feel fully confident about publishing as well. Sometimes I think you just gotta go for it and learn from it I guess….btw Holly, this blog is brilliant like always. Great work!

  3. I am more keen to read prose but you placed the words together very well. I invite you to visit my digital house as well. There are some decorated anecdotes and stories, just trying my best to make my substandard writing better.
