Eyes closed
Taking a deep breathe
Holding it in
Looking for her courage deep inside
She stood up
Letting the air out slowly
She would not allow herself to be unheard
She was against the hate speech
The violence
The killing
She would recite her words
Yell them to the heavens if she has too
Hate will never beat love
Segregation will not destroy acceptance
We are human beings should be united

Loved the last line that emphasizes the importance unity. It’s easy to discriminate and kill each other, but it takes a humanistic skill to be see the importance of unity and heal each other 😊

Exactly we need to embrace each and remember our humanity makes us all the same but respect and learn from the differences in our cultures.

Thank you for the amazing poetry. Peace is hard work. Need leaders to work together and for the people. To lead with concern, kindness and love.

I completely agree. Hate breeds hate. We see that all too clearly now.
