Malignancy #Poetry

This word is full of people

Who feel self-entitled

Who want to be dignified

They’re more important

They’re above you

Above us all

These ideals are what holds us back as human beings

Your job

Your economic status

Your religion

Your sexual orientation

Your gender

Nor your skin color

Makes you no better than anyone else

I wish people would see

It’s an imagined social status

That is segregating people

Causing more riffs

Turmoil

For what?

Stroking your own ego?

You are the fool

And those who embrace humanity

We are the many

Our words of love

Will not be hushed

By your spews of hatred

    1. Thank you! I started writing this piece with a different goal and then this idea flooded my mind. The world feels to be at such odds… it hurts my soul but I won’t let it break my humanity and the support for my brothers/sisters of the world.
